Introduction

Saving dollars on remanufactured toner could end up costing you in reprinting.
An independent study commissioned by HP reveals that HP output quality is consistently more reliable than remanufactured cartridges.

A clear winner

QualityLogic, a leading quality assurance organization, recently tested the performance of HP Color LaserJet toner cartridges vs. remanufactured brands.1 QualityLogic tested five remanufactured brands (20 cartridges of each brand) for this 2008 study. The test results showed that the quality and usability of pages printed with Original HP LaserJet colour toner cartridges was consistently more reliable than output from the remanufactured colour toner cartridges.

Quality you can rely on

QualityLogic used a page quality scale developed from responses of real business customers about the level of print quality they require for different business purposes. The results show that business customers demand better quality on documents intended for distribution outside the company. Often, the page quality from the tested remanufactured cartridges was not good enough for external distribution including customers and others outside the company – and required reprinting.1

  • Over 25% of the pages inspected from the tested remanufactured cartridges were unsuitable for external use.
  • Over 98% of the pages inspected from Original HP cartridges tested were acceptable for all uses.

Superior colour can save you green

You pay the price for poor quality, when you consider the cost of reprinting pages that are unacceptable for their intended use. Reprints require purchasing extra paper and replacement cartridges. In the end, an Original HP colour toner cartridge can end up costing less than the average remanufactured colour toner cartridge.

A set of Original HP Color LaserJet cartridges can cost up to $76 less than remanufactured cartridges when you include the costs of reprinting low quality pages that don’t meet business customers’ standards for external distribution.2

Bottom line: Reprinting poor-quality pages is a waste of time and money and a frustration you don’t need. Using Original HP cartridges lets you focus on your business.

The colour of trust

Blue is blue is blue, right? Not exactly. Colours printed by remanufactured cartridges can vary significantly from the colours printed by HP cartridges. HP colour can’t be matched. When compared with colours printed using Original HP Color LaserJet cartridges, the colours printed using the tested remanufactured cartridges demonstrated significant and noticeable colour differences.3

Across the tested remanufactured cartridges, all six colours—cyan, magenta, yellow, red, green, and blue—deviated significantly from the colours printed using Original HP cartridges.3

Produce documents and marketing materials with consistent, true colours—an important part of your company’s brand—using Original HP Color LaserJet cartridges.
