The HP Professional Development Program - designed to support innovative and effective uses of technology
in Canadian classrooms
HP believes that technology, when used effectively in teaching, can make a positive difference in student learning.
HP also believes that teachers can make this positive difference happen when they receive professional development
in using technology in their teaching. The HP Professional Development Program is designed to
support innovative and effective uses of technology in Canadian classrooms
Mirrored on the HP Technology for Teaching Grant Initiative Professional Development Program that was developed
in 2004 in partnership with the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE), participants in the HP
Professional Development Program work in individual and group activities in an online, mentored environment, as they
improve their skills and knowledge about effective technology integration in teaching and learning. Since its inception,
the HP/ISTE Professional Development Program has served 2,430 teachers from 483 schools in Canada and the U.S. In the
spring of 2006, an analysis of its impact showed clear evidence of improved teaching in the classrooms of teacher
participants, and improved learning for the students in the classrooms of those teachers.
In addition, HP can provide training solutions - based on your specific teacher and school staff needs - on the
following topics:
- HP Device training
- Windows® operating system training
- Microsoft Productivity Applications training
