When you think about printing your own photos, you've most likely
got the most popular sizes in mind: 4" x 6" and 5" x 7".
There are plenty of reasons why these sizes are so popular: They're
perfect for saving, sharing, framing, and using in creative projects
like scrapbooks.
What’s more, HP’s photo printers have made it more
convenient than ever to create these versatile prints. There’s
even a compact printer that prints both 4" x 6" and
5" x 7" on the go: the HP
Photosmart 475 compact printer.
More benefits of printing in 4" x 6"
and 5" x 7"
- Flexibility. There’s so much you can
do with these prints. They’re ideal for photo albums and for
tucking inside greeting cards. And if you choose a compact printer,
you can bring it along to parties for instant party favors.
- Cost-effectiveness. The price of printing at
home rivals what you’d pay at the photo lab. You can print
4" x 6" photos for as little as 24¢ with the HP
Photo Value Pack1—and 5" x 7" photos
for as little as 49¢.
- Quality. You’ll be impressed with the
quality of the 4" x 6" and 5" x 7" prints that
come out of your HP photo printer. They’ll look like you just
picked them up from the lab.

Ink. Whenever you’re using an HP printer,
be sure to use genuine
HP ink cartridges, too. Refilling your cartridges with non-HP
ink will compromise the quality of your prints and you could
even cause damage to your printer. Read
more about HP inks.
Prints without borders
HP photo printers offer the option to print your photos with or without
the white borders. Borderless prints are great because:
- There's no trimming required.
- They look just like photo-lab prints!
- Photos are ready to frame or place in the family album.
- They’re
perfect for scrapbooking, greeting cards, and other creative projects.
If you’re interested in borderless prints, be sure to select
borderless photo paper.
